في رأيي ، هناك سوء استخدام لاختبار فيدال (وهو تحليل يستخدم في تشخيص الحمى المعوية) الذي يستخدم في كثير من الأحيان كاختبار توجيه تشخيصي وليس كاختبار تأكيد للمرض عندما تشير علامات معينة إلى وجوده.
إن اختبار فيدال غير موثوق به على الإطلاق ، ويولد العديد من الإيجابيات الزائفة ولا يمكن استخدامه كاختبار تشخيصي تحت أي ظرف من الظروف.
أولاً لا بد من الاعتماد على الفحص السريري. وفي الواقع الاسم الحقيقي للمرض هو “حمى التيفوئيد” مما يعني أن هناك دائمًا حمى شديدة مصحوبة باضطراب في الجهاز الهضمي مع أو بدون إسهال.
