السلطات تعلن عن إحباط هجوم كان سيستهدف مسؤولين كبار للانقلاب على النظام
اعتقال ثمانية أشخاص من المشتبه بهم وضبط أسلحة وذخائر خططوا لتنفيذ عمليات إرهابية بهدف زعزعة أمن واستقرار البلاد للاستيلاء على الحكم

أعلنت السلطات في موروني فتح تحقيقات قضائية للاشتباه في «محاولة إنقلابية» ووفقا لتصريحات أدلى بها النائب العام محمد عبده خلال المؤتمر الصحفي الذي عقده يوم السبت ١١ أغسطس فإنه بعد تؤكُد قوات الأمن ومحققي فرقة المباحث من المعلومات التي وردت إليها نجحت في ضبط «شبكة إرهابية خطيرة» شكلها «إرهابيون» – حسب وصفه، خططوا لزعزعة الأمن والاستقرار وإحداث البلبلة في البلاد.
وتابع النائب العام مؤتمره الصحفي بالقول أنه خلال التفتيشات والتحقيقات التي قامت بها رجال قوات الدرك وبفضل مساعدة محققو فرقة المباحث تم توقيف ثمانية من المشتبه بهم والاستماع إليهم ويجري التحقيق معهم، كما ضبطت أسلحة وذخائر ومبالغ مالية كبيرة في منازلهم كانت ستستخدم لاستهداف مسؤولين كبار في الدولة بهدف الاستيلاء على الحكم بالقوة.
وامتنع النائب العام محمد عبده عن إيضاح تفاصيل أكثر حول الأشخاص الذين تم توقيفهم وهوياتهم لحين انتهاء التحقيقات التي جريها فريق التحقيق وأنهم في حكم الأبرياء حتى يصدر قرار المحققين بالإدانة.
